Review & Description
Are you a businessman or a world traveler who feels the necessity to be in two places at once? If this is your case, then this line of Orient GMT is the perfect watch for you. This GMT watch lets you tell the time in two different time zones. For example, you can set the time of where you are and the time of where you’re going to be. You can use the GMT function by adjusting the rotating bezel (ring around the watch).
As an automatic watch, it is powered by the spring of the watch. This means that the watch will automatically store power when it is being worn.
The dial displays many important features. One of which is the inner bezel and how it corresponds with the 2nd time indicator, which is the orange hand. This enables you to set two different times. This function is possible because of the crown (time-setting piece) located at the 4 o’clock position. You will notice that the bezel time is run by a 24-hour system. This means that when you are rotating the crown at the 3 o’clock position to set the time of the day, the orange hand will move at ½ speed from the hour hand. Therefore, this allows you to accurately keep track of the time of both zones.
You will also notice that the outer bezel is engraved with minute indicators that rotate unidirectionally. The dial also comes with other important features such as the day indicator, also located on the 3 o’clock position. The date function is adjusted by rotating the 3 o’clock positioned crown. If you are a businessman taking evening flights, then this next function is also useful. The GMT watch offers luminescent time and hour indicators so you can view your watch at any time during the day or night.
On the side of the watch, you will see the Orient logo engraved on both crowns. Another important trait to the crown is that it is screwed down, which prevents water from entering the case for up to 100 meters. On the back of the watch, you will also find the official Orient stamp on the stainless steel caseback.
The watchbands come in either stainless steel metal or genuine leather. The metal bands contain a combination of matte and finished links that allows for a two-tone variation. You will notice that the leather bands have orange stitching along the edges. Notice how the leather bands come in deployment clasps. However, the metal bands are double-locking deployment clasps. These clasps prevent the watch from coming off involuntarily.
There are 5 variations to this watch, 3 of which are metal bands and two of which are leather bands. Within the metal bands are three variations of dial color: black, navy blue, and silver. The leather bands come in either a black dial or a silver dial.
